Yin yoga is a quiet and simple practice, but not necessarily an easy practice. Yin yoga works deeply into the body by utilizing longer holds in each posture to allow the body to sink into the pose. Most of the work is done in seated or reclined positions targeting the deeper tissues of the body, the connective tissues — ligaments, joints, bones, and the deep fascia networks of the body — rather than just muscles. This is a wonderful practice to quiet the mind and body to relieve tension and stress.
